I recently hosted a workshop at UCLA focused on Building Containers for HPC.
The workshop took place via Zoom on July 6, 2022.
You can find the PDF and Zoom recording in the UCLA ORAC GitHub repository:

This workshop was a follow-up to a previous session on “Using Containers on HPC Resources.” During the event, we concentrated on creating containers to run on HPC resources. We covered building containers using Docker/podman and Apptainer/Singularity and demonstrated how to use Hoffman2 to execute the newly built containers.
To follow along with the workshop, participants needed to install Docker or podman and Apptainer or Singularity on a computer with root/admin access. A GitHub or DockerHub account was also required to store the created containers. As a convenience, we provided a VM image for VirtualBox with the necessary software pre-installed.
